GUYATONE VB-28 VINTAGE MIJ VIOLIN BASS SUNBURST - 1970s - w/HARD CASE
Super quality build, tone and feel Guyatone VB-28 from the golden years of Japanese guitar building.
Precise dating is tough (no serials) but safe to say early to mid 70s. Could be earlier but the period catalogues are not conclusive.
This one is in lovely condition cosmetically. Some minor scuffs to neck, head and body edges (see photos) but overall, in very good shape. No repairs, splits, cracks etc.
The original hardware, frets and electrics are all fine. Guyatone pickups are a sheer delight. There are many admirers (and indeed replicas) of their gold foil guitar pickups. But Guyatone really got it right on these bass versions too in terms of both placement & design.
Above all these just sound and feel excellent. Plus they always seem to me more 'solid' than a lot of the more fragile violin basses out there. Definitely a robustness and feel of weight to the build.
This is not to say it would survive a severe vintage Who-ing of course - but everything's relative.
This little lad had a pro setup last autumn and hasn't been allowed out to play with his friends since.
The vintage hard case pictured is included in the sale.
Specs:
- Double-bound archtop hollow body in antique sunburst
- 30" scale bound maple neck
- Rosewood 'zero fret' fingerboard with dot inlays
- Volume, Tone plus on/off switches for each pickup
- Vintage hard case included

A Note On Shipping:
We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.
Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.
The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.
For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment
Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
