This one’s a beauty! This is a deeply emotional guitar from Paracho, Mexico. It takes you into it’s world. It’s one of those guitars that has thousands of slow sad songs about death and heartbreak in it, and it’s processing it’s emotions in the best and healthiest way by singing it’s heart out.
The city of Paracho is an amazing place. There’s rows and rows of multigenerational workshops, and the techniques and tools get passed down from generation to generation. In that way they really are making true to form “new old” guitars, new guitars made with old traditions and methods. This guitar has a particularly beautiful piece of spruce for the top! The top sounds loudly with a very pure tone. It has huge open chords with phenomenal tone, very Nick Drake or Jose Gonzalez. It has a deep and profound weight and feel to the sound with tons of soul.
Condition is really clean throughout, there’s a few scratches here and there but it’s overall undeniably clean. Nothing is too out of character with the guitar, you want one with some stories in it. It’s a phenomenally deep playing experience, let me tell you. Some guitars really do offer a portal into another room of emotions, this is one of them. To me it’s a lot more of a songwriter than a flamenco shredder. It can play, don’t get me wrong, but the vibes are more about emotional depth than speed. The saddle is all the way down, but this guitar is way more about the feel and the songs than lightning fast shredding. Looks like it has a jack installed for a pickup, but there's no electronics on board. The jack is there in case you wanted to put some in though. Message me for a video, Killer instrument!
