Rare Carlos Santana’s Personal Custom-Made PRS Dragon 2000 Guitar

CARLOS SANTANA'S PERSONAL CUSTOM DRAGON 2000

Paul Reed Smith hand-made this custom Dragon 2000 guitar for Carlos Santana in 2000. Carlos played this guitar during the Supernatural touring timeframe. It was gifted to Bill Gates at a concert (yes, "the" Bill Gates) and seconds later Bill gave it to me.

A few years later Paul Reed Smith came by my house and picked the guitar up, took it to the factory, and made sure the guitar was literally perfect. The smell of incense is still on the guitar.

I am not a collector so I am selling this classic. This guitar is a dream. The tone is perfect (again designed specifically for Carlos), action fast, and the playability smooth and easy.

You can see from the letter from Paul the guitar history is authentic.

Other than Santana, the PRS team, and me testing it for a few minutes no one has played this guitar. It is completely original. It has not left my home studio except when Paul took the guitar back to the factory once.

ABOUT THE DRAGON 2000 HISTORY

After the Dragon III, PRS took a 6 year hiatus from building the now world-renowned Dragon guitars. The time off culminated in the release of what many considered to be the most outrageous design devised yet - the Dragon 2000.

Instead of a neck inlay, the Dragon was inlayed on the lower bout of the guitar’s body - a challenging task considering the depth of our PRS body carve. PRS released the Dragon at the NAMM show in 2000.

There were only 50 Dragon 2000 guitars ever made. Carlos's guitar is a much more rare: a collectible, one of a kind, custom-made version made specifically for Carlos.

• One-piece Brazilian rosewood wide-fat set-neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with no inlay
• 22 frets; truss rod adjuster at headstock, signature logo on headstock, locking tuners
• Solid mahogany body, figured maple top, 3-D dragon inlay

• Two humbuckers (“PRS Model”)
