About This Listing

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

One of my personal stash of guitars. I have hoarded this beautiful guitar for many many years. ...

It's my 1961 Harmony H75 Sunburst 3 DeArmond Pickup Guitar with the original Hard Shell Case. Its hard enough to find one of these Harp Tailpiece Harmonys, but the original Hard Shell Case??? Come on...You never see those listed!!

Be sure to check out the video demo we did for this awesome Harmony guitar!

So, what exactly is a Harmony H75 you may ask?

Harmony H75 Semi-acoustic electric guitar

Harmony gave different model designations for different components, and even different finish options. For example, the Harmony three-pickup semi acoustic range comprised numerous models: the Harmony H75, Harmony H76, Harmony H77, and Harmony H78 were all effectively the same guitar; three DeArmond pickups, block neck inlays, and identical controls. The H75 and H76 were sunburst, the H77 and H78 redburst. The H75 and H77 came with a harp tailpiece, whilst the H76 and H78 were equipped with a Bigsby Vibrato tailpiece.

The Harmony H75 which is the same guitar as the H77, only in sunburst, first hit the Harmony Catalogs in 1960. The Red Model, the H77, first appeared in 1963. Making this guitar a second year model. Given the S-61 stamped in the sound hole. Harmony continued making these guitars until ending in 1970. A great run of awesome guitars! This model of Harmony's H75 appeared on the cover of the 1960, 1961 and 1962 Full Color Harmony Catalogs. Think they were proud of this model??

This particular Harmony is all original and as you can see from the back of the neck wear, I have played it extensively. However, I have taken extreme care of this and all my guitars. The frets are still in great shape as is the original pickguard. Those Pickguards sometimes are curled from age and sunlight. The same pickguard material is used also for the selector switch surround which is also very nice, the truss rod cover, and the Headstock overlay with Harmony Logo and Fleur de lis Symbol inlaid within that. Those headstock overlays will also sometimes come loose from the headstock over time. This one is tight as it can be. The only maladies I can note is the one dinger on the back of the neck, see pic 11 and some of the finish lamination has come off in the input jack area. See pic 9. No cracks which we are used to seeing in the input jack area, just some finish coming off.

What can I say about the DeArmond Gold Foil Pickups. They are strong, very musical and full of tone. If you haven't experienced them before, be prepared to be impressed. They hardly need any pedals to express themselves but with pedals, they respond like you would want and expect. I especially like the three switch feature on these guitars. They activate each pickup individually allowing you to decide which pickup or pickups you want to activate. Not like so many three and five way switches we are used to.

This guitar come complete with the very hard to find anymore, small amber tone and volume knobs. They are original and work as they should. All other parts to include the individual Tuners and also hard to find Hexagonal Tuner Grommets are all original. Original Wood Brodge, Tailpiece and switch tips. Even the strap buttons are original.

We dated the guitar from the stamp S-61 inside the sound hold. Hard to see but see pic 6. It also still has the Harmony Serial number and Model label inside the other sound hole. See pic 5.

These guitars have a 24 inch scale neck with a Rosewood board with nice big Block Inlaid Fret markers. The original nut measures 1 3/4 inches and the guitar weighs in at 6 lbs 14 ozs...

Fresh setup from Jeff the Tech with a new set of Dr Ducks 10's. It plays great with nice easy to play, low action. I love playing this guitar!

Check out that original Hard Shell Case. It was an expensive upgrade back in 1961. Thats why you didn't see many. I was thrilled that this guitar came to me with the original case. Its as nice as the guitar. All latches, hinges and original handle are stil with it and working properly. The blue Plush interior is still very nice and the case still has the accessory box and back restraint strap. This case would sell for at least $500 today...If you could find one. Its awesome to have with this cool guitar.

Beautiful but its vintage and used so it's sold as is no returns. Thanks for respecting that.
