The Danelectro 59R-GOLD Fifty Niner Gold Top brings that unmistakable Dano cool with a semi-hollow snap and a retro vibe that practically begs to be played. With its Gold Top finish and classic lines, it’s the kind of guitar that looks right at home onstage, in the studio, or hanging on the wall daring you to plug in.

Features

This Fifty Niner centers around a semi-hollow body that gives it a distinctive, resonant feel – there’s an airy response when you dig in, and notes seem to bloom rather than just fire and fade. The maple neck teams up with a pau ferro fingerboard for smooth, fast playability, while the 21-fret, 25-inch scale layout keeps things feeling familiar under your hands.

Dual Lipstick humbucker pickups are the visual and sonic stars here, delivering that unmistakable Danelectro character with a twist. An adjustable wrap-around bridge anchors everything down, keeping intonation tight and helping the guitar ring with a satisfying sustain. The retro-inspired styling, complete with that eye-catching Gold Top, ties it all together into a guitar that oozes style as much as sound.

Tone

Plugged in, this one serves up a blend of warm, rich body and bright, clear edge. The semi-hollow construction adds a touch of natural resonance and air around the notes, while the Lipstick humbuckers keep things articulate and musical. Chords have a chimey top that cuts without getting harsh, and single-note lines stay defined even when you lean into gain. It’s the kind of tone that feels alive under your fingers, equally at home laying down throaty rhythm work or singing, expressive leads.
