This is a Blacktop Jazzmaster body. I bought this used and I was told this was from the Fender factory, but I can’t verify that for sure. There are some stamps on the neck pocket that look like the Fender markings. This looks to be an alder body, which is the same kind of wood that Fender used on these.
The body has been finished with tru oil.
The dark line on the back is the wood grain, that is not a crack. The grain is just dark there.
