About This Listing

Great Deal on a Great Classical! MIJ

This was the top o’ the line Asturias in the 80s; now it is the $3000 Custom.

The top has a few cleated, excellent repairs and some related finish touch ups that are not exactly pristine looking. If that is an issue, please do not buy this.

The guitar sounds great, has an excellent setup with low action, good intonation, and zero playing issues of any kind. Really! This is a nice guitar to play and hear!

In short, if you want a high quality classical (John Mills used these in concerts), far, far better than new comps out there, for cheep, and want a practice or performance instrument where you won’t be sweating over ever little scratch (kind of nice not to worry about!), this may be for you.

Comes with a  padded gig bag.

ALL solid woods! And no, laminates are NOT as good as solid!

Action is 3.5mm 12fret/6string and 3mm 12fret/1string

Top

Solid German Spruce

Back / Sides

Solid East Indian Rosewood

Scale

650mm

Fingerboard

Ebony

Neck

Mahogany

The guitar length is 39.25”; lower bout is 14.5”; upper bout 11.5”, the body is 3.9” deep at bottom.

FROM GSI ASTURIAS CUSTOM LISTING

"For a sleek, Hauser-style guitar at an intermediate price point, these are the best Japanese classicals on the market. They have great volume and quality of tone. Playability is superb with fret work equal to the best concert guitars. This model, the "Custom" features additional inlay work with beautiful mosaics in the purfling and tieblock. We recommend this instrument to students looking for a workhorse guitar that can be kept throughout their career."
