Cloudwalker Hand Made Wooden 6 hole Flute in Key of G? - Made in USA - NOS

This very interesting instrument is one of 22 wooden flutes that we got recently when we bought the entire stock of a bankrupt music store. These flutes all appear to be new and unplayed but we have no idea how old they are because the music store we bought started in business in the late 1990’s and went out of business in 2023 . Which makes these instruments between 2 and 25 years old. We have tried to find the model and current price of each of these flutes and price ours at substantially less to give a great deal to the new owner.

Here is the best description I can give on this instrument.

This flute is unmarked but there was a tag on it from the store I got it from that said it was a Cloudwalker in the key of G

It has a haunting, ethereal musical voice that touches the heart and spirit.

Crafted from domestic Cedar, it is sealed with non-toxic oils which give it a clear, bright voice especially on the high notes.

The flute is tuned in the key of "G" .

This is a large six hole flute .  Covering the third hole from the top makes the flute easier to learn to play.

This flute is 24 inches long.

Here is some info I found about native American flutes:

The Native American flute is held in front of the player, has open finger holes, and has two chambers: one for collecting the breath of the player and a second chamber which creates sound. The player breathes into one end of the flute without the need for an embouchure. A block on the outside of the instrument directs the player's breath from the first chamber—called the slow air chamber—into the second chamber—called the sound chamber. The design of a sound hole at the proximal end of the sound chamber causes air from the player's breath to vibrate. This vibration causes a steady resonance of air pressure in the sound chamber that creates sound. Native American flutes comprise a wide range of designs, sizes, and variations—far more varied than most other classes of woodwind instruments.

The flutes varied greatly on materials and tuning structure. In the American south they were made from river cane and bamboo; in the American west and east flutes were made from softwood trees. The flutes' fingering patterns varied from 4 to 6 holes. Cedar (a softwood) was the preferred wood of choice in the American southwest. With the addition of metal tools, flutes made out of hardwoods came into existence.

5-HOLE FLUTES VERSUS 6-HOLE FLUTES

A six-hole flute gives you a bit more range in that you can play more scales, including the relative major diatonic scale. If this does not make sense to you now, it will in the future as you play these scales.
