About This Listing

I have for sale my 1996 Custom 24 10top

It is a Vintage Natural finish

Inside of Trem cover signed by Paul Smith in 2017

Comes with the original case w/key

I sent it to the PTC ( PRS Tech Center)  in Stevensville, Maryland in January 2023 to get new Frets, a Bone Nut and Setup. While it was there I also had them replace the Trem with a new Gen 2 Trem. New knife edge screws and everything. They also reworked the HFS and Vintage Treble pickups. The tech told me that they had some round bobbins laying around still and custom spun them so they are not square like newer ones. I opted to keep the original “winged” tuners because they would have changed them to newer tuners. I received it back after nearly 6 months in beautiful like new condition. This is still a used guitar, it has a few dings and swirls, I’ve taken the best pictures I can. It’s a beautiful guitar but I haven’t played it since I received it back, so the frets have not even been played on yet. My interests have changed and I’m going to sell my PRS to purchase another Gibson Les Paul. I play my Smartwood all the time and I just don’t pick this beauty up since I got it back. I’m a little negotiable on the price and I have receipts from PTC for work completed As well as proof of all email correspondence with the PRS PTC. I understand I won’t recuperate what I’ve spent with the PTC but I believe it’s an amazing guitar that will serve someone very well  whether you want to collect it or play it. I can take more pictures if you like, just ask. Thank you for looking.

I may also be interested in a local trade for a nice Gibson Les Paul of close to equal value.

Motivated seller.

Product Overview
This "in-between" phase of the PRS Custom 24 marks the switch from Brazilian Rosewood to Indian Rosewood, though the 5-way rotary selector was still in place at this time, later replaced by a "blade" switch as is used on the most recent production guitars. This era also saw the first "explosion" of finish / color options offered by PRS.
