The apex of guitar builds. Here is a beautiful Jack Briggs Pandora in a cherry aniline finish. This is the prototype Pandora Jack produced using laminate construction. First owner. Aside from superficial scratches on pickguard guitar remains in the same conditions as when I received it. Always case-kept in an environmentally controlled, smoke-free environment. I hate to sound like I'm trying to sell something here, but I've tried a wide variety of expensive semi-hollow instruments <enter practically any premier builder here> and this Pandora is as good or better than the lot. The only reason (I can't emphasize this point enough) that this guitar is up for sale is due to my recent preference change to a larger neck profile. Put a full boat carve on this axe and it would see me out. Again, guitar is in stellar cosmetic and functional condition. A very conservative cosmetic rating of excellent++.
Buyer will receive the Pandora, a very nice Cross Rock HSC original to guitar and paperwork pictured in listing. Shipping to CONUS only. Absolutely, no trades.
A statement from Jack on the laminations:
"Historically speaking, factory produced semi-hollow guitars have been made primarily with maple laminations, sometimes maple and poplar. My laminations use a total of 5 plies - 0.022" thick maple for the dress plies (outermost and innermost) and one center ply of 0.045" rock maple - cross-laminated in between 2 - 0.045" thick plies of spruce (standard oriented), for a total plate thickness after finish sanding of about 0.175". Spruce was chosen for its stiffness to weight ratio (modulus of elasticity), which makes it one of the fastest transmitters of sound waves. This with its light weight make for a snappy sounding semi-hollow in a reasonable weight range of 7.0 - 7.5 lbs on average. All core veneers for the inner 3 plies are made in Briggs Guitars' shop and the plates and sides are laminated with urea formaldehyde glue, which produces a harder glue film than even hot hide glue. Necks are still glued with hide glue, as on all other set-neck Briggs Guitars models."
