Rider RG-800 Custom (top shelf number from our made in Japan shop collection)
(description provided by the Japanese shop that originally sold this guitar)
Rider was a brand produced by Japanese luthier Momose when he worked for Hayashi Wood Works in Matsumoto.
Mr. Momose's high level guitar-making skills and extensive knowledge at Rider led to the establishment of the popular Headway guitars, which even to this day can be said to be one of the best in Japan.
This early version of the brand - 'Rider' - was produced for only two years, the higher models like this were made in low numbers, and I would not be surprised if this was the only example of this guitar!!
This RG-800 is a very special guitar.
First, it has an all solid body and a solid top, which are the specifications of Rider's top-of-the-line guitars (the regular line RG-800 has plywood body sides).
The body is a bright sunburst color. Then, the double parallelograms position mark on the ebony fingerboard.
These specifications suggest that this is a custom line guitar, either a personal order or a store order.
Even the regular RG-800 is hard to find in the market nowadays, and it is a miracle that this Custom version was found.
TOP:Solid Spruce
Side&Back:Solid Rosewood
Neck:Mahogany

At nearly 50 years old there are some light dings in various places and an old repaired crack on the lower part of the body back. (It has been repaired and glued tightly in the past, must be decades old. The sound is not affected at all.)
This is a truly special Rider guitar.
Don't miss it, you will never find it again.
Enjoy!
