Very Good condition, 7,5/10, weight is 3.62kg, Made in USA, at the original Fullerton factory, including later shaped plastic Fender hardcase (this model should have the square plastic case from the factory) and tremolo arm, this is the infamous 2-knob Dan Smith era version of the Stratocaster with a maple neck (was also available at the time with rosewood)the finish has gone from ivory white to yellow to almost brown, very little wear on the body around the edges, some chipping on the fingerboard from a refret, a couple of screw holes in the face of the headstock from a removed string lock, the butt end of the neck is stamped Oct 28 1983, 4-bolt neck with micro tilt, worn frets, all original parts and electronics except for the knobs, typical 016730-plastic bobbin single coils with white and blue plastic cables, the pots dont have any visible dates but all solder joints are untouched (cost cutting at Fender may mean that these pots are imported), more: At the end of the resurgent Dan Smith era, Fender introduced a new Stratocaster with only two control knobs and a input jack mounted on the top of the body for 1983 and 1984. This guitar is referred to as the "Standard Stratocaster" (not to be confused with the later Made in Mexico Strat of the same name). Unique to this two-year production run were the Freeflyte surface-mounted vibrato tailpiece (no internal cavity), top mounted input jack and third tone knob delete. The "Standard Stratocaster" is frequently confused with the "Dan Smith" Stratocaster, which features a traditional Stratocaster tremolo system, and three knob control layout.
