About This Listing

This all-new McPherson MG-4.5 features Wenge back and sides paired with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top.

The original McPherson 6-string jumbo body, the MG, takes the tonal qualities of a dreadnaught style guitar and enhances the richness and essence of that big, boomy sound to create a true work of auditory art. The MG delivers an unrivaled articulated and immaculate tone and is signified by its rounded Venetian cutaway.

All MG body guitars are 4.5" deep at the neck heel, this one is also the same 4.5" depth at the butt end of the body.

McPherson Guitars are a pioneer in the marketplace with their state-of-the-art bracing and cantilevered neck design. More than three decades ago, McPherson revolutionized the acoustic guitar world by introducing its unique Offset Soundhole Technology. This breakthrough design increased the total flexible surface area on the central part of the instrument and has become their unmistakable signature.

Product Overview
Matt McPherson built several unique high-quality flat top acoustic guitars prototypes in the early 1980s, and over time these designs were refined and released under the incorporated McPherson moniker officially in 2001, though specimens built prior to that are still on the market.

The McPherson JL-40 DR featured a unique three-soundhole design at the edges of a Spruce top. It had Rosewood back and sides with a Rosewood fingerboard on a Mahogany neck. It included a single humbucker in the neck position with volume and tone controls on the side of the guitar.
