This is a wonderful sounding TAMA dreadnaught acoustic guitar from the mid-1970s. It is a copy of a Martin D-28 herringbone, with solid spruce top, solid rosewood back, sides, fingerboard and bridge, and mahogany neck. The fingerboard and bridge have mother of pearl inlays. Beautiful patina has developed on the fingerboard.

The headstock was cracked and professionally repaired at one time; the break did not go through the headplate veneer and the repair is stable, smooth, and does not affect the instrument. There was a small loss of lacquer on the bass side of the neck over 7th fret. That has also been professionally repaired such that it cannot be felt during playing, though there remains a difference in color between the new and the aged lacquer in this small area. There are also several small nicks in the body (mostly on the front and one in the pickguard) that I have tried to capture in the photos. They are difficult to see as they get lost in the lighting. None go through the wood and all are superficial marks that are expected in an instrument approximately 50 years of age.

The guitar is surprisingly light and responsive. The woods used are beautiful and the finish is very thin, especially on the front such that the wood grain can be felt, in contrast to some modern heavy finishes.

Strung with new set of Daddario Extra-Light Gauge. Current Action, as shown in the photos:

Bass Side at 7th Fret: 6/64 inch; at 12th Fret: 7/64 inch

Treble Side at 7th Fret: 4/64 inch; at 12th Fret: 4/64 inch.

Will ship in a hard case for protection. It's the case I received with the guitar and looks age appropriate, but I am not sure if it is original to the instrument as there is not TAMA marking on the case.
