Slingerland Maybell Nite-Hawk Style No. 83

Manufactured by Slingerland for their line of May-Bell Violin-Craft "De Luxe" Guitars, Banjos, Mandolins, and Ukuleles. Selling originally for $45, this "grand concert" sized (15.5" l.b. X 11" u.b.) fully bound archtop features highly figured "three-ply" maple back and sides and laminate spruce top, and is fully sunbursted Equipped with rosewood bridge and later chrome tailpiece. The maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard (replacement) with a notable peghead inlay of sparkling silver with inset sparkling gold diamonds. The neck was reset rather crudely at some point, and is particularly ugly beneath the extension, where the dovetail has been exposed with a bit of glue to-boot. Cosmetic wear and tear present throughout, with crazing, checking, but no structural concerns on body. Nice set of upgraded tuners.
