Offered here is the uber-versatile Line 6 DT-50 amp head, designed by Reinhold Bogner, famous for his line of high-end boutique guitar amps. This particular example is DEAD MINT, with very low hours on it. If you’re not familiar with these, I highly recommend checking reviews in the trade publications; you’ll have a hard time finding anything but stellar reviews.
I've just noticed that Reverb's generic list of specifications say that this is a "solid state" amp...it assuredly is NOT 'solid-state’...I hope they FIX this error. Just to be clear, only the digital modeling circuitry could be described as ‘solid state’; the amp itself is an old-school tube amp.
I can hardly believe that these amps never really got the traction they deserved. Folks, we're talking about a Bogner-designed EL34 tube amp with 12ax7 preamp tubes and massive power & output transformers, FX loop, Midi in/out, line level & headphone outs, coupled with Line 6 modeling technology. It can even be daisy-chained with additional DT-50/25 amps without damaging anything, except possibly your hearing.
The brilliant idea behind this design is that the amp not only convincingly emulates classic amp tones via modeling, it also reconfigures the analog circuitry to match the amp being modeled, with regard to operating class...A or A/B, or power tube configuration...triode/pentode...and a lot of other stuff that’s beyond my ability to describe.
This is a two-channel amp with four distinct, basic voices, based on Fender, Vox, Marshall or Mesa-Boogie but you can alter the operation & tone of these basic voices to taste; ever wonder what a class A Marshall would sound like? Class A/B Vox? Only limited by one's imagination & skill. It also has a half-power option, can be switched to 25-watt operation if desired.
Being a 50watt tube amp head, this thing is LOUD and you'll need a robust speaker cabinet for it and, as an old-school tube amp, it’s also pretty heavy, weighing in at about 40 lbs; I will take my best guess as to shipping cost to split this with buyer…fair enough?
