Up for sale is a gorgeous vintage 3/4 classical guitar built by master craftsmen in the Matsumoku guitar workshop in Japan, six decades ago, during the golden age of Japanese guitar making. Many of the best Aria guitars came from the same workshop.
Scale length is 580mm (23in); Nut width is 43mm (1 3/4 in).
This will be a major upgrade for a younger student of the classical guitar. It is far superior to the Cordoba Cadete and Protoge models In the same size.
This is an exceptional instrument. Solid cedar top, beautifully aged mahogany back and sides, true rosette in the Spanish style, and a vintage nitro finish. Tuning keys are cast German tuners with a lovely patina, they are in very good condition. I restrung the guitar with D’addario J45XL‘s. It sounds glorious.
This guitar took me completely by surprise. It is by far the finest 36” classical guitar I have ever played, and I’ve been teaching classical guitar to children since the early 90’s. If you are searching for a luthier built classical guitar for a smaller virtuoso, or for a genuine and extraordinarily rare piece of guitar history, this is the instrument you’ve been looking for.
The guitar also includes the original chipboard case, which is… functioning!
Coming from a classical guitar teacher- this is the best 3/4 classical guitar you’re going to find.
Thanks for looking-
Jon
