Here's an old Slingerland Maybelle banjo, probably from the 1920s.
It's overall in good shape with a 27" scale length, and a head about 10 3/4".
It still has the original friction tuners, which are probably the smoothest friction tuners I've ever used. Plus a cool Waverly tailpiece with a sliding cover. No marks on the dowel or pot, but LOTS of bird's eye on the pot and neck.
The action is high once you get past the 5th fret, but it's an open back plunk machine!!
