About This Listing

1995 Gibson '67 Flying V Reissue

This is a bad ass rock and roll machine. It's a reissue made in 1995 but it looks like a 50+ year old piece of Gibson art! Aged by honest playwear, but this fkr is solid and sturdy. Rode hard and long, it's beat up in all the right ways, with tons of gorgeous finish checking throughout that only 30 years of playing can create, and unfaded parts where stickers were removed, this one has the character of a good Murphy Lab - but at 1/3 the cost!

The body is sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. New nut and frets on a fat rosewood board make this a dream to play. Bridge was shot and not stock so I replaced it with a like new Gibson USA ABR bridge. One of the pickups was replaced, looks like a DiMarzio. Made in USA and Serial # stamps are almost impossible to read clearly through the aged lacquer, but last owner and I determined that it's likely 9210544, made in July of 1995. A more expert evaluation would get a better, more accurate appraisal of the age, but I think it's pretty close.

Plays like butter, pickups are loud and strong, all controls work fine. Relatively lightweight. Tone is awesome.

Funding another project, so make me an offer. Sold as-is and as described so ask all questions before you pull the trigger. Shipped fully insured in it original Gibson plushlined case, in good condition.

Product Overview
Gibson returned the Flying V to its roots in 1990 after experimenting with numerous aspects of the design throughout the '80s. Eschewing the offset knobs and beveled edges from the previous decade, Gibson returned to one of the earliest standard production versions of the Flying V from 1967 for inspiration, using a more traditional triangle-knob layout, and plain mahogany body woods. The Flying V was rebranded in 2003 to the Flying V Factor X.
