The Altair PW-5 power attenuator is very useful for guitarists using large to medium wattage tube amps. Connected between the amps speaker output and speaker, and it lowers the power delivered to the speakers. That way, you can crank your output tubes for added harmonics and drive, while lowering the volume to the speakers.
There is also a line out with pad / level switch (see pictures of the output jack panel), offering a lower signal for recording or sending to the sound board in a live setting. Useful for taking a powerful tube amp and reducing it to practice levels.
This is one of the first units used for this purpose. It is in very good condition: it works just as it should.
