Gibson SG Reissue Bass - 2005

We've just received a used Gibson SG Reissue Bass, manufactured in 2005. With its roots dating back to the 1950s, the SG Bass has a long history. While it was informally known as the SG Bass, its official name in the past was the EB series. Within the EB series, there were various models such as the Les Paul Junior-shaped and semi-acoustic-shaped EB basses, but the EB-3, particularly shaped like the SG, was commonly referred to as the SG Bass, hence adopting its model name officially.

The model we have in stock is inspired by the iconic EB-3, which has been cherished by numerous blues and rock bassists since the early 1960s. Featuring a compact mahogany body for warm tones and a 30-inch short scale for enhanced playability, it embodies the essence of the SG Bass. Despite its simple appearance, its combination of a large humbucker and a mini humbucker delivers a flexible sound that's truly exceptional.

Furthermore, it's worth noting the distinctive sound attributed to its short-scale construction. While SG Basses with short-scale designs tend to be favored by relatively smaller players, their renowned powerful and unique tone garners enthusiastic support from many bassists. Equipped with two calibrated SG Bass pickups, independent volume controls, and a master tone control, it enables bassists to further explore a variety of tones. For those seeking a robust bass sound different from that of Fender, this is a highly recommended instrument.

Condition: Good. Professionally cleaned and set up with new strings (D'Addario).

No problem with the electric systems. Neck is straight and the truss rod works with no issues. Frets remain over 80 percent.
