Very unusual and rarely available. This guitar is made out of reclaimed timbers from Talisker Whisky distillery, Isle of Skye. The back and sides are from old oak whisky barrels and the top is from Oregon Pine washbacks, the reservoirs for boiling hot spirit. The resultant instrument is an extremely well finished hand built instrument featuring scorch marks on the washback top, copper nail markers on the side of the neck and 12 frets to the body. Fylde is a long established English manufacturer of hand built guitars and folk instruments. They are amongst the finest hand built guitars available in the world today.
Although the timbers used are novel, this guitar still sounds wonderful and it is also very loud due to the 12 frets and positioning of the bridge on the soundboard.
The condition of this instrument is good with only a small area of slight cracking on the rear which I cannot illustrate in the photos. Fylde looked at this a few years ago and advised that it was stable. The guitar is otherwise almost as new.
Under saddle fitted piezo pick up. Complete with hard case.
