Excellent Carvin up for grabs! Also known as Kiesel in today’s parlance, Carvin guitars represent an excellent value to those cross-shopping high end brands. This example plays beautifully, with fantastic fretwork and low, speedy action. With a host of desirable specs, it will compete with guitars costing many times more!
This example boasts 24 medium jumbo frets on a smooth Ebony fretboard - paired with a maple neck which runs through the entire center of the body, providing unparalleled sustain and upper fret access. The pickups have been swapped with worthy choices; a DiMarzio DP103 PAF in the neck, and a Dimarzio Andy Timmons DP224 in the bridge - with a Les Paul style control layout, they provide a wide variety of tonal options. Tuners are locking Sperzel units, and combined with the string thru body provide great tuning stability. The neck has a fairly flat profile, and is extremely easy to play. The trans blue finish is quite attractive with a matching headstock! It weights in at a nice and manageable 7lbs.
Cosmetically this guitar shows well, with a couple of small dings, and a bit of scratching from being played over the years. Overall it looks great, with no major finish issues. It plays very well with a low string height of around .040” at the 12th fret, and is 100% ready to go to its new home!
Includes Carvin branded molded hardshell case.
