About This Listing

MUSIC MAN StingRay - 2007

We have a used MUSIC MAN "StingRay" available, manufactured in 2007. The Music Man StingRay, alongside Fender's Precision Bass and Jazz Bass, has become the standard for electric bass guitars. The neck features a 6-bolt attachment with the truss rod adjustment wheel located at the neck end, representing the specification just prior to the current model. While the neck end adjustment for the truss rod is now common, the neck itself is secured with 5-bolts and a heel cut.

This model, which played a pivotal role in popularizing active bass guitars, features a simple layout with 1 humbucker, 1 volume control, and a 3-band active circuit, delivering a powerful sound with a distinct punch that once dominated the scene.

The sound, characterized by a low-end emphasis with a prominent mid-to-high range presence and sparkling highs, ensures it stands out in any ensemble. The heavy and sharp slap sound of the StingRay, distinct from the JB-style single-coil pickups, is unparalleled. It brings to mind the early days of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Whether they recorded with the StingRay is unclear, but it's reminiscent of that era.

When it comes to the StingRay, its unique sound defines it. While it may not offer the versatility of other basses, it produces sounds that are uniquely its own. While it used to be a staple for many, sightings of players using it have become less common lately. It's a gem that deserves to be brought back into the spotlight by someone like you.

Condition: Very good. Professionally cleaned and set up with new strings (D'Addario).

No problem with the electric systems. Neck is straight and the truss rod works with no issues. Frets remain over 80 percent.

It has signs of use such as scratches and dents.
