Hello and welcome to The house of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique, quality Shure Brothers 1st generation dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1980's that has been cleaned and tested. This is an American made Beta 58 model that was factory set at low impedance. It comes with a period Shure mic clip shown.

Pic # 2 shows this very model along with the earlier Beta 57 in an old 1980's Shure ad.

I still don't quite know the story behind the Beta 58 but it seems to have a been a superior variant of the SM58? The Beta 58 was only built and sold for about 10 years before production on this mic was stopped and the 2nd generation Beta 58A was sold. The Beta 58 was a bit more expensive than the standard SM58 and has a great frequency response with a warm tone you'll appreciate. A very high quality model with superb sound characteristics.

This mic looks very similar in shape and size to the SM-58. The Beta 58 came with a different paint scheme and front grill.

This isn't the prettiest Beta 58 I have offered but that being said it works like brand new. The mic has 100% output with zero issues and the XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once the cable is attached.

The mic is appx 6 1/2 inches long X 2 inches wide at the front grill.

As you can see there are heavier signs of wear on the original painted handle. Several scratches and paint chips. Zero fractures or corrosion however. This mic came to me in much rougher condition and I had to put some elbow grease into her. The front grill looked really bad  with lots of tarnish and corrosion but you can see it cleaned up very nicely and looks a ton better. The front grill has zero dents or odors. The Shure label looks very good and completely legible. Again, the inner foam inserts / pop filters are new and in perfect condition.   I usually replace these as the older ones are in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions.

The mic clip is a period quality A-25 model with a bit of wear as well but works great giving the mic a wide range of tilt up and down. It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand.

Mic takes a standard XLR cable to operate but none is included.

Microphone is a very conservative 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event.

This is currently the only Beta 58 I have and haven't had any to offer in quite some time.
