For your consideration is a beautiful concert-sized Breedlove Pursuit in nearly perfect condition. This solid-top guitar sounds as gorgeous as it looks.
This model has several attractive appointments, including a high gloss finish, pearl rosette, a very attractive tortoise shell binding, and Breedlove's pull-through bridge, meaning string changes are a snap. One feature that is subtle but really distinguishes this guitar is an almost jazz-box style cutaway that makes playing high up the neck a real pleasure while adding a bit more flair than is usual on an acoustic. There is a high quality LR Baggs preamp, on-board tuner, and an official quality Breedlove gig bag, meaning this guitar is gig-ready from day one.
All the parts function perfectly. The neck is straight and fully attached. I've tested the pre-amp and it works great.
The tone from the red cedar top is warm and very smooth. This guitar would be ideal for any style of music in which a pleasant tone is a focus. The full size 25/5 inch scale and cutaway really open up a lot of tonal and playing style possibilities. It would be a great guitar to start and grow with, or for a more advanced player looking to conquer a number of styles. You can get a great sense of the Pursuit Concert sound in the linked video.
I've filed down the bone saddle and filed the bone nut to bring the action down to a very comfortable 2.5 mm at the 12th fret. The neck is straight, with just a little relief. No fret buzz. You shouldn't need a set up unless there's something unusual in how you want your guitars to play.
The only noticeable flaws I can identify are two small nicks in the finish on the neck and tiny striations or lines in the top that look like the beginnings of pick scratches. These lines only show up under very specific angles and lighting conditions, and I've used side-by-side photos to show how they are usually invisible. These minor flaws are generally invisible to anyone but the player, and do not affect the sound or playability at all.
With the Pursuit series, you get the best of both worlds, with a price competitive with import models, but the assurance of a high-quality instrument hand inspected in Breedlove's Bend, Oregon factory. The inspection sticker with initials is still inside the body and shown in the photos.
