About This Listing

Bought this guitar directly from Japan and what a shredder. 1990 Charvel by Jackson DK-060-SH in 100% original condition and perfect working order. Expertly crafted at the sought-after Chushin Gakki factory in Japan, this DK model is meant to blaze solos and destroy. Featuring a bolt-on quartersawn rock maple neck, a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and yellow poplar body. Bridge pickup is a Jackson J90C ultra high-output distortion humbucker, and a J100 Alnico V magnet single coil at the neck position. Weighing 7 lbs, 6 oz with new D'Addario 9-42 strings.

The quartersawn rock maple neck has a slim and fast-feeling and a D-shaped profile. The rosewood fretboard features dot inlays and the original jumbo frets. The frets have their full factory height and tons of life, showing only light wear mainly beneath the plain strings, frets 1-5, then fading up the fretboard. The guitar plays effortlessly with a straight neck. The stock licensed Floyd Rose trem system was made by the ultimate, Takeuchi, and Charvel-branded with trem arm included. The original black Jackson-branded tuners and electronics work as they should. Single Master Volume knob and three-way pickup selector switch. The single 500K pot has untouched solder joints and is dated 1990.

The pearl white body has aged into a mild cream color. It looks more cream depending on the light, while the photos I took here look mainly white. Neck plays incredibly fast with the semi-gloss finish. The Takeuchi Floyd Rose is in great shape with minor rust mainly on the long and short screws, as well as the locking nut screws.

Blemishes on this guitar, but nothing that affects performance. Cosmetic scratches and dings around the top, back, and sides of the body. Ding through the finish next to the lower strap button. Six dings through the finish in the bridge cavity, caused by the long screws of the Floyd Rose. Lengthy scratch on the top of the body, bass side, next to pickups, difficult to photograph. Minor wear/scratches on the plastics. Patina on the hardware, including volume knob, trem bar, tuners, bolt-on plate, etc. Lower strap button is slightly loose and could benefit from a longer screw, but it still holds up the guitar well currently. Two small finish checks/cracks on the body at the neck-body joint - see photos. Side of the neck has a couple dings at frets 6 and 7, but they are on the treble side with minimal to no affect on playability. Tiny ding on back of the neck between frets 4 and 5. I am the pickiest player when it comes to the smoothness of the back of the neck, and I don't feel much of anything while playing this guitar. The semi-gloss finish on the back of the neck is in fantastic condition, with essentially no wear on it beyond the blemishes just mentioned. Minor wear around the headstock. See photos for blemishes.

If you're looking for a show piece, this guitar isn't it. If you're looking for an awesome player, look no further. This Charvel is in very good shape overall with minimal fret wear and 100% original. It hasn't been beaten up like a lot of these early 90s Jackson Charvels. It plays like lightning and made by Japan's best at Chushin Gakki.

Guitar includes the Takeuchi trem arm which screws into the bridge easily and doesn't hang loose like a lot of trem systems. You can put the trem arm where you want it. Great feel while performing highs and dives. Also included is the original Jackson Charvel gig bag, classically worn and discolored.

For shipping, the strings will be loosened and the Floyd Rose will still have its spring tension, resting against some foam or cardboard. Buyer of this guitar agrees to be responsible for setting up the guitar, including the Floyd Rose, for playing.

With the colder winter temps, it is highly recommended that the buyer of this guitar leave it in the box, unopened, inside the house for at least 12 hours to properly acclimate to temperature.

Upon purchasing, Buyer agrees to the above description and condition of this guitar, including the condition shown in photos. If you have any questions about this post, send me a message prior to purchasing. Always up for answering questions with other guitar shredders.

I'm not a shop. Just an avid guitar guy. Cheers.
