I built this from a Stewmac 335 guitar kit. It plays really nice, and it sounds like a 335 should. Maple laminate with a flame maple veneer, mahogany neck, granadillo fingerboard. The details and specifications for the kit can be found on the StewMac website. I’ve priced this at the cost of the unassembled StewMac kit. I had alot of fun building this one and want to build another, so I'm selling it to fund another kit. Get a 335-style semi-hollow guitar at a great price!
Most of the parts are from the kit itself. Changes from the Stewmac provided parts:
- Gotoh bridge and tailpiece
- Tuners are a different style, but from a similar import brand and quality to what was provided with the kit
- Cream colored reflector knobs.
- Import wiring harness with full size pots, and a better quality than the mini pots and harness supplied in the kit.
The top color is a combination of blue and green Angelus dye. The back, sides and neck were stained with Bismark brown Angelus dye though it came out more of a reddish color than brown. The topcoat is CrystaLac Brite Tone gloss polyurethane. It is finished to more of a satin than gloss.
The guitar weighs 7lbs 5oz.
Includes a padded gig bag. Free shipping via UPS Ground in the continental United States (excluding Alaska) only.
