This is an interesting example of a vintage “Serviceman“ bass guitar (NOT an authentic Jazz Bass but rather a replica) judging from the way the neck plate and neck are attached. Likely from the Vietnam war era and well-loved (see pictures with extensive apparently play-induced finish wear as well as some checking and many dings), this instrument does function when plugged in and the neck is straight. The headstock is bowed up a bit- not sure whether this is from string tension over time or if it was made like this- I suspect the latter. Some rust on the tuners. Binding around the neck is missing in several places. The cover for the neck pickup is missing. The included hardshell case has seen better days but is functional.
Most of these “Serviceman“ guitars that I have seen are meant to replicate Jaguars and other 6-string electric guitars. I have only seen a few basses listed online.
