As a professional lefty guitarist, I sometimes take chances on random guitars on Reverb. Such was the case when I purchased this thing about 5 or 6 years ago. The seller I purchased from did the modifications- he had the custom paint job done, installed locking tuners, Seymour Duncan JB/59er pups, darkmoon harness (which please note- is reversed so the volume controls are in opposite places than they normally would be…still it’s a tonal improvement!) and stuck some counterweights in the cavity.
After reading his description (which I have posted as the last photo) I decided to take a chance- and I have absolutely LOVED this guitar. It truly plays great, it sounds great, it stays in tune. It’s more balanced than most SGs. It’s super fast and easy to play.
So…why am I selling this guitar? Welp. I’ll be honest, I just turned 50, and I feel so totally “rigs of dad“ high-strapping with a pointy rock guitar- I just can’t pull off the look at all anymore! Ha. That’s the truth of it. So I’d rather it go to some young whippersnapper who can rock it with full low slung glory. It’s a rocknroll machine!
Here’s the thing. I can’t tell you who did the paint job. I have no idea what year it was made. The teens? Korea? I think so. There are some superficial cracks in the paint- not at all structural. Also I have misplaced a vol knob that came loose and truss rod cover but I think I can dig them up. Both easily replaced if not.
I’ll miss this guitar almost as much as I miss my youth, my hair loss is your gain! this thing rules. Nab it! Do it! Make me an offer I can’t refuse!
