Here we have a 1960s Silvertone bass with a number of modifications. Firstly and most obvious is a respray of purplish blue sparkle paint. The neck and headstock have also been stripped of paint and sealed, producing a very nice feel. Secondly, the first owner decided to graft on a new headstock probably because they didn't like the original style. It is very odd but actually looks quite nice and is done quite well. The tuners have been replaced with a similar vintage and feel perfect. This bass stays in tune very very well. Lesser modifications include a plastic washer under the input jack nut, which I think is a rather clever and befitting mod. Lastly, the original knobs have been replaced with similar vintage Fender amp knobs. Like all the modifications made on this bass, it befits it quite well. Electronics work almost perfectly, one of the pots is slightly scratchy. This bass sounds great and plays very very well. Someone knew what they were doing way back when and really set this up and dialed it in as much as you can hope for. The modifications taken as a whole suggest a single mind and a competent, skilled hand. Seriously cool, stylish, loud, and punchy bass. Neck is straight as an arrow. There is one visible divot in the fretboard, pictured, which does not affect playability. Ships immediately upon purchase and with the utmost care in packing.
