Vintage Supertone Handcraft 4 string Tenor Banjo 1920-1930s Restoration Project Banjo

This is a Project Banjo for Restoration- no work has been done to this, unplayable in current condition

Supertone Handcraft Model either made by Rettberg and Lange in NYC or made by the Harmony Company in Chicago. Models were made for the Sears catalog at the time.

Original Grover Tuning Machines, all appears working

Interesting inside under the banjo as there is a metal resonator inside pushing the head up to the hoop

Label on back of head stock in great shape

19 Frets

23" scale length

11" drum head

Inlay is real and Perferling inlay is real as well

Inlay in finger board all in tack

Bowtie cut outs around metal resonator ring

This needs some work or not depending on how you want to restore it

There is some chipping and cracking around the back of the attached back. Close up pictures shown in 12 &13

New strings, a possible new bridge and neck adjustment. The height seems high but we are unable to repair this inhouse or adjust to find out (this is the more unknown part of this restoration)

This is being sold as is and needs restored

No Case Included

Found one that was sold by Rivington Guitar shop in NH from gbase dot com website
