- I estimate the 1978 date by the neck construction. It is the higher quality 3 piece with 2 matching, centre neutral, 2 maple stringers with maple board, 24 3/4” scale. These were the first (and best) AA necks.
- I always though Odyssey missed the mark not catering this model to the burgeoning Vancouver punk scene of the late 70’s/early 80’s. I wanted to get one, correct/post the neck bolt issue on the Odyssey Facebook fan page and show what a machine these can be
- This guitar is a weapon. When friends strap it on, the respose is “wow!.
- I did all the resto-mods and rebuild. Comes with a 100 picture file of the rebuild details
- Look at the neck pocket, huge gaps. But in true punk ethos, the neck as been converted to a rock solid 4 x 1/4” bolt with disc heads for a wood to wood neck joint that will never ship and transfer max tones. I could fill the gap but it would make no difference to tone or stability.
- Frets dressed, buffed, fingerboard relic’d
- Original Grover USA machine heads serviced. Original Leo Quan Badass wrap-around- bridge is installed in the right place for correct intonation. Original solid brass Odyssey knobs.
- Bone nut custom profiled at factory
- Had a neck position DiMarzio “slug” pickup, didnt line up, not powerful or interesting. Replaced with Gibson 490T mounted in the original DiMarzion tall PU ring
- 250k nylon shaft CTS pot replaced with new Borne A500k and factory 250k tone, special tone cap and treble bleed circuit.
- Copper shielding, 22AWG point to point wiring, Switchcraft output jack
- Control cavity and trussed cover replaced with punk ethos luminos street “no exit” aluminum sign
- Had a single coat acrylic black lacquer paint that was never processed. No relic’d, rebuffed. Great look.
- 8.9 pounds weighs like good Les Paul. Straplocks hold the guitar solidly and it hangs like good friend.
- Comes with original backplate and trussrod cover
- Comes with gig bag case
