Pavan TP-30 with solid Cedar top. NOW: $550 less than an identical, but brand new, top-level Pavan. But this one comprised of much more-mature wood and is PRICED TO SELL NOW.

Please note that because I recently fully retired, we decided to down-size and more. Toward that end, I recently listed my home for sale (5442 Shannon Ridge Lane, San Diego, CA 92130).

Seriously, if you are looking for a hand-built classical guitar in this general price range, then I presume I need not tell you about Pavan's excellence in wood selection, craftsmanship and service, as well as the playability and incredible sound of this guitar.

I can, however, share that I have played this wonderful-sounding guitar relatively regularly each week for 7+ years, have never traveled with it, and have continuously kept it in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. The wood has matured beautifully and it sounds even better today than when it arrived in Jan 2016! The tuning pegs, frets, fretboard and neck are all in excellent condition, and the intonation has not changed since the first set-up.

I am simply selling this guitar, as I did two others a year ago (check my reviews), because of a serious left hand injury I incurred several years ago (torn nerves and soft tissue in hand; fractured finger and thumb). As I have gradually aged, these chronic, irreversible deformities makes playing Barre chords on the lower frets impossible, and playing most anything on an acoustic guitar with a 650mm scale and 52mm wide nut quite difficult, often painful and no longer tolerable. Thus, a few of my guitars are no longer compatible with my hand. Such is the case, over the past several years, with this exquisite Pavan classical.

One goal in selling this guitar is simply to help a guitarist looking to acquire a good-looking and great-sounding nylon string, acoustic guitar at a fraction of the cost of a similar quality, 'new guitar' . A “win” for her/him and the guitar. This transaction will then enable me to put the proceeds toward another Pavan TP-30 with a 640mm scale length, 50mm nut (to enhance 'playability), and a cutaway (to allow me to use a capo to play Barre chords on upper frets where the action is lower and the frets require less reach). Clearly, also a win for me.

Because I feel the condition of this guitar likely falls somewhere between Mint and Excellent, I wanted to avoid any disappointment by a potential buyer. I therefore, took the more conservative approach by designating the guitar's condition as Excellent (rather than Mint).

Next, I provided ample pictures of every aspect of the guitar to help assure that anyone considering purchasing this instrument can get a sense of its condition and should not be disappointed if they were to purchase. To help assure no surprises, I specifically took three photos that are are close-ups (shown as the last 3 photos), to focus the worse examples of marred surfaces. The blemishes are few and far between. Please understand that in most, if not all of the other pictures, apparent blemishes in the guitar, or distortions in the images, are mostly due to light reflections and are not marred marks on the guitar. If you are truly interested in this guitar, and the condition of the finish is a genuine concern , I would be happy to take additional close up photos of any part you request, under optimal lighting, so that you can see exactly what the finish looks like. You simply need to be certain you are interested in purchasing the guitar and ask for specific parts to be photographed
