Handmade for us by the wonderful head luthiers at Esteve, Dieter Hopf, and Manuel Adalid. This guitar is something special. Most people would have heard of fan and lattice bracing but this is a membrane top.
The concept behind a membrane top is to create an instrument that is of a performance volume without the need for electronics. The membrane is the ellipsis on the top of the guitar, which is super thin. It's around 0.8mm thick as a normal top would be at least 3mm thick. It's braced in a lattice structure with carbon fibre to give it strength. It's very surprising how much volume it generates and how much air pressure is created in the body.
This is the only one in the UK and is only available as a custom order from Esteve. It's a truly special instrument.
