Vintage 40s/50s Harmony Stella 8-String Mandolin, made in USA. Birch body with sunburst finish, very good condition with plenty of marks and signs of wear. Scrolled Stella logo makes it an early one, Kind of a wall-hanger, folk art or playable project, previous owner put a new back on it with unknown wood or laminate and painted it black and is a little rough around the edges. The neck angle is steep, resulting in high action up the fretboard. The bridge could be adjusted to get the action closer, but would require a neck reset for super low action with optimal break angle over the bridge. Original hardware parts intact with good working tuners, rusty tailpiece, wooden nut, floating bridge and pickguard. Pictures show the wear and tear, paint chips, dings and scratches, string action, etc.. Strings are old and ready for replacement on this cool mando.
