About This Listing

Epiphone Zephyr DeLuxe from around 1948 judging by volume and tone knob orientation. The guitar is in very good overall condition and it feels very solid. There are dings to the finish as well as some parts where the lacquer has worn off from the neck--I have tried to show the extent of the this in the pictures. The tailpiece was repaired at some point but it’s solid.

The original “carousel” knobs have outgassed and disintegrated and they have been replaced with period knobs from TK smith. The pickup has been replaced with a bigsby style Blade pickup from a noted Canadian builder. The pickup is very warm and open sounding. Very clean and hifi. The tone pots and tone capacitor and wiring is original (aside from the new pickup leads). The neck is very straight, truss rod is in working order and the action is great. The binding and pickguard are in great shape and show no separation or warping from the body. The main tone pot is a little scratchy but can be cleaned out with some compressed air. The guitar comes with its original hardshell case and is setup with 13 gauge Thomastik Infeld flatwounds that compliment this guitars full, open, and silky sound. The neck on this instrument feels solidly superb and is a dream to play!
