Here we have a very clean 1 owner 2003 Victoria Victorilux 3-10 combo amplifier . This well cared for amp is fully original and actually is somewhat of a prototype version as all the Victorilux amps made after this one now have the added mid-range pot as a standard feature. This all came about when my friend and long time customer Ray Goodman went to a NAMM show in Nashville in 2003 where he met Mark Bair owner of Victoria amplifiers and ordered a Victoria Victorilux combo from Mark. He loved the old Fender tone and modern features.
So Ray gets the amp and is on the road touring and the first 2 amps sent by Mark are running biased too hot and blowing capacitors on stage. So Mark wants Ray to work with him and keeps sending him cabs and chassis' for him to try. Ray on tour, on stage, night after night, in real time goes back and forth with Mark, different adjustments, more tweaks, until with Rays help they come up with the final design and Ray even comes up with the idea of adding a mid-range pot to the circuit. Finally the problems are solved and Mark ships him 'this' amp the final version which Ray has been touring and recording with for 20 years now. All production models since, now have an altered control panel so the mid control is in line with the other tone controls.
Other features are: Spring reverb and tremelo 'there's a footswitch jack located next to the speaker input', point to point hand wiring,40 watts output, and 3 Jensen Blue Back speakers. The Blue Backs are pricey and are no longer included in the current models .
This amp is rock solid and has worked flawlessly for over 20 years. It has a matched set of Groove Tube 6L6 power tubes with relatively low hours.
Stage used with Mitch Ryder, Dick Wagner, Marshall Crenshaw, Mark Farner, SRC for their 2011 reunion, and many others.
Amp sounds outrageous and works flawlessly. Cosmetically very clean with just natural aging and a few bumps and bruises with nothing serious.
