Jose Ramirez 1a
This is an amazing instrument. Because of the standard 650 scale it's very easy to play. The action is about 3.5mm / 3.2mm. Condition is very good, there are some very minor scratches on the top and on the back deck of the instrument. These marks aren't very big, just from regular use for 20 years. The guitar has been played and not just stored in the closet. Overall these scratches and dings are very minor and can only be seen upon a close-up look. Please look at the video provided, and if you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Guitar has been stored in my living room, I live in Seattle and humidity is within 45/55% all year around.
Guitar sounds amazing, really powerful projection, very deep and dark base with very balanced melodic treble.
Cedar top
Indian Rosewood back sides
650 cm scale
52 mm nut
Hard case included
Little note on the action of this Ramirez. The older Ramirez guitars were typically designed with action relatively high with about 4 mm or 4 1/2 mm at base. this relatively high action was needed for these guitars to really sing and project. Within the last 20 years, Ramirez standardized the scale length to 650, the action on these new guitars are much lower and much easier to play. The action is low and still no buzzing, able to produce big projection and big sound. this low action allows player to have easier time traveling the fretboard obviously, and therefore more pleasant playing experience. I think the new Ramirez guitars are much easier to play than the older ones. Although this guitar is almost 20 years old and fully opened, it belongs to the new generation of Ramirez 1a guitar. It has a modern sound with big projection but yet retains this traditional Ramirez Spanish style flavor. It's an amazing instrument.
The brand new Ramirez 1a From Ramirez website right now cost about €11,500 which is about $13,100. This guitar is half price and fully opened up. I think it's no-brainer
