About This Listing

Pre-production prototype with hand engraved p-nn serial number (one of the first 60 prototypes). Fully machined bridge assembly, with NO cast parts. Top mounts with forward facing screws. Removable leg rest. Very few of these remain in this condition.

I've added a few more photographs at the request of some interested shoppers.

Included are soft gig bag, leg rest, and Babicz string adapter for non-double-ball strings. Some pics show the string adapter installed, others do not.

The photo of the bout, shows the hand-engraved serial used on the prototypes but the last digit of the serial has been redacted. The actual serial is between p-50 and p-59. The double ball strings used in the photo are a set i just opened but this set was probably 15 years old and as such the B string shows some patina. The photo with the string adapter uses newer strings (Thomastik, i think based on the color of the plain strings).

Edit: according to the Steinberger serial number database, my original date on the listing was off. The actual date was 1981.
