Here for sale is an Ovation 1985 USA Collector's Series Autumn Burst Electro Acoustic Guitar
The Ovation 1985 - 1 is a special collector's series made by Ovation in the USA in 1985. This is a fantastic and inovative guitar. They were the first to have Piezo pickups in the bridge. The company was founded by a Helicopter engineer and amateur musician who used new technogies to create this guitar with a premium wooden top with a rounded light weight back. This makes it very comfortable to play and hold. The battery is accessed through the back panel and it plays beatuifully all the way up the fretboard and sounds wonderful unplugged or plugged in.
Somewhere along the the finish on the front was damaged but it has had a professional repair and resonates as good as ever. There is another finish check on the other side and a flat chip on the back of the headstock. None of which affect it's playability and if anything it adds to the roadworn character of this guitar which is still going strong as it approaches it's 40th year. It has the very distinct sound holes on the top shoulders which give it such a stylish and unique look. Some notable players include Neil Diamond, Steve Lukather or Al Di Meola.
They have become quite rare guitars and sought after by players and collectors alike. It is in full working order.
