Dillion DLJR-58 Transparent Cherry Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Dillion DLJR-58 in Transparent Cherry finish. Built in Korea, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with a Wilkinson wraparound bridge along with a set of Grover tuning machines. The Pickup featured is a singular Wilkinson alnico 5 P-90 which is wired to a master volume and master tone control.

The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with a profile resembling a ‘C’ filling the hand without being over cumbersome, providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant and luxurious under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 12” radius making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The double cutaway body design offers the player unobstructed access to the higher register, perfect for those quick lead lines. 

The singular Wilkinson alnico 5 P-90 position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The P-90 pickup sounds thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The lows are full and tight sound, the midrange is powerful, easily cutting through a mix, along with the biting high frequencies. The pickup is very dynamic, more so than the slightly compressed nature of humbuckers, while offering more power than is usually associated with single coils.An excellent choice for players seeking an early blues, rock style tone, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve blues, rock tones all at the fingertips.

Aesthetic Condition: 

Headstock: Overall good condition, a notable chip to the finish is apparent to the bass side of the headstock near the nut. This reveals the wood beneath, and continues round to an indentation cracking the finish on the side of the headstock. This is not of structural concern. The top edge demonstrates scuffing and mild paint transfer, with light scratching apparent to all surfaces under direct lighting at certain angles.

Neck: Overall very good condition, light cracking of the finish is apparent to the bass side upper register of the neck towards the fingerboard edge. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.

Body: Overall very good condition, Light to moderate scratching is apparent to all aspects of the body, causing hazing of the finish towards the edges of the cutaways. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
