Fender USA 25th Anniversary Stratocaster in Porsche Silver Finish made in 1979 with 70s Fender hard shell case. This guitar features a solid alder body, gloss maple neck and gloss maple fingerboard with large headstock. Equipped with its original Fender grey bottom single coils in the neck, middle, and bridge positions. Controlled by 1 volume, 2 tone pots and a 5-Way blade switch comprised of its original CTS pots dating to the 14th week of 1979. The 25.5" scale length neck has black dot inlays and 21 medium frets on a 7.25" radius with a medium C profile. The hardware is comprised of it's original chrome Fender branded deluxe Sperzel sealed diecast tuning machines with cloche heads, a new bone nut, a Fender synchronized tremolo bridge and black top hat knobs with a 3 ply black on white pickguard.
The early run versions of these featured a water based pearl white finish which was prone to cracking. It was later replaced with the Porsche Silver which is metallic and with age turns to a gold hue from oxidation such as this example Has.
This vintage guitar is in overall very good condition for its age with moderate signs of age/play. It has finish check throughout the instrument, some finish splits and there are some finish chips /wear around the edges of body. It has some marks and a few light dings/ dents and a couple finish chips at the bottom edge of fretboard. (see pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes 70s Fender Hard Shell Case.
