This guitar was ordered by a Fender brand ambassador who is a friend of mine. It was hand selected by the custom shop to be "a right handed reproduction of the stratocaster that Jimi Hendrix used at Woodstock." which was a late 1968.
It is a 1969 Stratocaster NOS in olympic white Serial # R38893
The pickups are AY's dated 12-5-7 They sound amazing!
This guitar has been in a closet for the last 15 years and prior to that it was barely touched.
The frets are absolutely mint.
The neck is a chunky C shape and the action was set low from the factory. It is absolutely one of the nicest playing stratocasters Ive ever held. I don't have a scale handy but the weight is on the heavy side. My best guess is that the frets are the narrow-talls (6105). It has vintage style tuning machines and a 5 way selector switch.
There is some natural checking which I did my best to highlight in the photographs and there is a dent on the underside which can also be seen in the photographs. Another small dent circled in green is barely visable.
All the case candy is there from the hang tag to the certificate of authenticity.
The case is a G&G
If you want the look of the classic "Hendrix" stratocaster and the finest quality Fender has to offer this is the right guitar. It sounds and feels absolutely exceptional.
