This is a 1966 - 1968 Fender Jaguar electric guitar. What makes this somewhat of a rare guitar is that the hardware is all dated to 1966, but the logo on the headstock (which is partially rubbed off) dates to 1968. My best guess on this is that it was assembled in 1968 using 1966 parts, and a 1968 decal/logo put on. The decal on the headstock is original and tested under blacklight. The date stamp at the base of the neck is original. The logo is definitely a transition of sorts, with a "R" (registered) mark combined with the Fender "transition" logo going into the CBS era.

This guitar is in really wonderful condition. The sunburst is excellent and has a three-color pattern as opposed to the faded two-color version. The back the of the neck is also outstanding looking because it is highly-figured maple. This guitar is made for smooth and fast playing. Think "surf rock".

As a side note: In the late 1960s, Fender tried to produce as many products as possible, leading to them use any available parts from previous years, for example, using 1966 parts to make a 1968 guitar.

The guitar is all original and has been checked under blacklight and taken apart. It has the original finish, original pickups, original pots, and more, and comes with it's original case as well. The action is 1.4mm (low E @ 12th fret) and has a laser straight neck! The neck radius is approximately 7.25".

The neck is dated 13SEP66B and the pots date to the 12th week of 1966 (304 6612).

The Fender case is included. It has a bright red interior and has its own coolness about it.

Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition. There are minor scuffs, blemishes and scratches here and there on the surface. Nothing worth noting specifically (see pictures). Most scuffs are on the bottom of the guitar as seen in pictures. The bridge cover is missing and the nut is replaced. The neck plate on the back has been replaced.
