About This Listing

Early 90’s ST-57/54 Fender Stratocaster 2 Tone Sunburst w/ 50s Appointments

For Sale, we have an early '90s Stratocaster in a sleek two-tone sunburst finish. It's a look that's undeniably reminiscent of the original '50s models that revolutionized the music world. The body, from an ST-57 is crafted from ash, a wood choice that's renowned for its bright tonal character and sustain, giving you a sound that cuts through with clarity and a visual aesthetic with its striking wood grain.

The neck, from an ST-54 is a smooth, maple affair, complete with a maple fretboard that provides that signature snap and brightness Strat players love. This traditional Fender design is known for its comfortable playability and the clear, bell-like tones that soar from every fret. There is a very subtle soft V profile to it that is highly enjoyable to play

Staying true to its roots, this Strat features the classic appointments that have made the model an icon: a trio of single-coil USA Custom Shop '54 pickups for that versatile, crisp tone; a synchronized tremolo with the thicker steel block for expressive vibrato; and a comfortable, body-hugging contour that feels right at home in any player's hands.

Service-wise, this guitar has been detailed to perfection. The frets are leveled, crowned and polished, ensuring a silky-smooth action and no string buzz. The electronics have been cleaned and tested, delivering noise-free performance and reliable sound.

This early '90s Stratocaster is for the player who appreciates the blend of vintage aesthetics with the reliability of modern craftsmanship. Whether you're on stage, in the studio, or jamming at home, this guitar is ready to deliver the classic Stratocaster experience.

Product Overview
The first era of Fender Japan began in 1982, when domestic market Japanese Fenders started rolling out of factories. While Fender Japan is popularly known for some of their more extravagant aesthetics, the bulk of domestic Japanese production was focused on reissues of historic American Fender models. These reissue models were labeled by a two letter/two number model code for the model and reissue year, followed by a suffix that indicated the price in Yen, and any unique specifications the model had. While a given model might come in a variety of price points during a given model year, from entry level to the near Custom Shop quality of Fender Japan's ExTrad series, all the models would broadly follow the aesthetic and technical specifications of the original American models. Reissue models would follow this naming convention until 2015, when Fender Japan revamped their product line to more closely mirror the organizational structure of the Mexican and American made Fender lines. Models on this page represent the 1982 - 2015 era of Fender Japan production, and typically feature the old style Fender Japan serial number at the base of the neck, as opposed to the contemporary "JD-" serial number format found on the back of the headstock. The original model codes (and frequently the value suffix) can usually be found in the neck pocket of the body, and at the base of the neck where the mounting holes are.
