About This Listing

If you're looking for all original museum piece, this ain't it. What your looking at here is a heroic and loving resurrection of a 1966 Fender Showman with an eye towards originality and function. THIS is a beast. It has a mixture of vintage and modern tubes, matched quad set of 6L6GC power tubes, a cool vintage Japanese rectifier and vintage pre-amp tubes.

AC wiring was re-done properly and the ground switch was converted to a 3-way negative feedback switch, normal, light and heavy, a very cool usable mod, easily undone.

Modern Fender tilt back hardware on the head, the original was long gone. Original blue caps were restored, (see the video) and Sprague caps added up top. Correct F&T filter caps installed, and CE Distribution tremolo bug installed. Non original back panel.

It has the original power transformer and choke. It had a non-original output transformer that I was lucky enough to come across from a 1968 Fender Twin Reverb output transformer, so it wants a 4 ohm, rather than 8 ohm load, ie two 8 ohm speakers.

PLEASE watch the YouTube video of the restoration of the head, and ask questions and examine photos first before buying. WYSIWYG, NO returns on vintage gear. Shipping only to the lower 48 states of the USA
