1967 Guild Starfire V factory white custom colour. Played but well looked after.

Custom order identified on the label in F hole. This is the only white Starfire V known to exist from this period. White wasn't even mentioned in the catalogue.

Made in Hoboken New Jersey in 1967. It has both factory 1967 and 1970 serials. I spoke to Hans Moust the author of The Guild Guitar Book. He thought it was made in 1967 and painted in 1970 for a custom order. The f hole label has a 1970 serial and the headstock has both 1967 and 1970 Guild serials on the back.

Mahogany neck with maple centre strip.

Maple centre block with spruce kerfing.

Maple ply top, sides and back.

Fret edge binding.

Nitrocellulose finish.

Dark rosewood fretboard. I think IR.

60s Guild humbuckers (which sound great)

Comes with Gator ABS hardcase that fits perfectly.

I've had a few Starfires and this one has the fullest neck and a 42mm nut. Medium C profile. The neck is beautifully played in with plenty of fret life.

It's very sweet sounding and resonant instrument no doubt helped by its 57 years. It was a high end guitar in its day and made to compete with the Gibson es335/es355 guitars of the time.

All original except for some old schaller strap buttons that were on it when I purchased it. I've owned it the past 14 years.

Tom Foggerty from Creedance Clearwater Revival played a custom white Starfire VI (very similar to this guitar but had a maple instead of mahogany neck).
