Headway's first guitar made of cherry wood was a ukulele built in 2014.
Headway has been working with this wood, which has a different quality and sound than conventional imported wood, with the knowledge and skills we have accumulated over many years of making guitars.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the company, and a special model has been completed with the hope that it will take a further leap forward and spread its wings to the world.
The top is made of Sitka spruce, and the sides and back are made of wild cherry wood collected in Japan.
It has a very hard character with a peak in the low midrange and a sweet sound characteristic of cherry wood.
The center of the body is decorated with a center line made of purple heart, the same material used for the pickguard.
The color "Twilight Yozakura Gradation" was inspired by the color of the setting sky and cherry blossoms.
The coloring, consisting of purple and cherry blossoms, exquisitely expresses the pale sky while viewing the cherry blossoms.
The head is designed with an inlay of a crane, which is a symbol of good luck.
The crane is also a migratory bird, and we hope that this guitar will be loved not only in Japan but also all over the world, transcending national borders.
One of the symbolic elements of the Sakura model is the cherry blossom inlay on the fingerboard, which is skillfully rendered using acrylic and wood.
The pickguard is made of purple heart with a purple wood color.
The back of the head will be engraved with the anniversary logo, inspired by the woman with the Japanese umbrella that symbolizes Headway's cherry blossom model, and exclusive to the 10th anniversary model.
The bracing inherits the bracing developed by Headway master builder Yasuo Momose, who studied the bracing of a vintage guitar made in 1934.
The X cross position is semi-forward shift close to the soundhole and has a more responsive and voluminous bass sound than when new.
The X cross position is 5mm closer to the bridge than the forward shift, which is designed to provide stability to the top board.
