About This Listing

PRS is the new age standard guitar brand alongside Fender Gibson.

The beautiful guitars and basses they produce are known to be used by the world's top musicians, including Rhonda Smith, John Mayer and Al Di Meola.

This model is the Grainger bass from the CORE series, PRS's flagship model, which is finished with the highest technology.

This is a masterpiece loved by many bassists and is also the signature model of Gary Grainger, who is known for his work with top musicians such as John Scofield.

It used to be made exclusively by Private Stock, a very high-end line, but is now also made by CORE.
For CORE's Gainger bass, we had a lot of sessions with many musicians.

This has resulted in an even higher usability while maintaining the quality of the Private Stock to the greatest extent possible.
In other words, rather than a low-cost version of the Private Stock, we feel it is closer to the truth to describe it as an updated version.

The scale is 34", the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rose, which is familiar to bassists who are used to playing Fenders.

The body, on the other hand, is made of mahogany back and maple top, and the top is finished with an elegant curved top, as is typical of PRS.
The neck is jointed with a set neck, a Gibson-like nuance.

The bridge is original, but inspired by vintage styles.
It looks like a traditional spiral saddle, but the height of the ball end and the distance to the saddle have been adjusted for more stable tuning performance.

The pegs are custom GOTOH models.
They operate incredibly ultra-smooth and are of high quality.

The metal parts have a beautiful contrast between brass and chrome, which is very PRS-like.

The PU is an original rail polepiece humbucking type, and the preamp is original and has a 3-band EQ.
Controls are 2 volume 1 tone + 3 band EQ.
Each volume can be pulled up to passive mode and only the PU that is pulled up is switched on. (Both ON when both are pulled up).

The smooth surface of the PUs and the fact that they can be used like finger lamps is a big attraction.
It feels like it has been well thought out and designed.

The basic sound is very smooth, with plenty of low end and beautiful overtones.
It sounds different from both Fender and Gibson, but there is no doubt that it has universal value, loved by all ensembles.

The fatness of the sound in passive mode is unmistakable and ideal for old-school music.
The beautiful, powerful sound of the active mode will fit in with modern ensembles.

This is a high-quality product that embodies why PRS has an unparalleled reputation as one of the world's best brands.

Try it for yourself.
